Oakland Tech basketball player Jhai Johnson is the Bay Area News Group’s girls high school athlete of the week for Jan. 22-27.
Johnson, daughter of NFL quarterback Josh Johnson, finished with 43.8% of the votes. Santa Clara basketball player Nina Llamas placed second with 29.5%.
Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.
Johnson, a sophomore, did everything for Oakland Tech in its 63-27 victory over Oakland. She scored 19 points, grabbed 22 rebounds and had 10 steals in a dominant all-around performance.
