The Indian women’s hockey team lost their third straight match, this time going down to Australia 3-0 in their FIH Pro League. Weeks after failing to qualify for the Paris Olympics, there was more disappointment in store for Janneke Schopman and team as their poor run of form continues.


Bengaluru FC climb to 6th spot with win against Chennaiyin FC

Bengaluru FC sealed a 1-0 victory over Chennaiyin FC at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium. A second-half strike by Ryan Williams was enough for Gerard Zaragoza as he scored the lone goal for the winning side in the 62nd minute of the match.. The win helped them climb to the 6th spot from 11.


Amit Panghal and Akash move into quarters at 75th Strandja Memorial Tournament

Amit Panghal, Akash and Abhimanyu moved into the quarter-final of the 75th Strandja Memorial Tournament in Sofia, Bulgaria.

The quarter-final action will start on Thursday. Nikhat Zareen (50kg) will be up against Lkhadiri Wassila of France, Sakshi (57kg) will face Mamajonova Khumorabonu of Uzbekistan and Arundhati Choudhary (66kg) will square off against Matovic Milena of Serbia. Jugnoo (86kg) and Sagar (+92kg) will take on Uzbekistan’s Djalolov Samandar and Zokirov Jakhongir respectively. Naveen (92kg) will also have his quarter-finals bout tomorrow depending on his round of 16 match result tonight.
