EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The day before Valentine’s Day is normally a big one for local businesses, but this past Tuesday we got hit with a significant winter storm.
Fortunately, some businesses told 12 News they were able to rebound on Wednesday.
“Yesterday was supposed to be the busiest day, but instead it was a bust,” said Marie Schaller, owner of The Chocolate Delicacy in Warwick. “We knew today was going to be crazy. There is no other busier day than today.”
Customers were seen flowing in and out of the store on Wednesday, while the staff worked hard to fill orders.
Area restaurants also got a boost in business. Dino Passaretta, owner of Vanda Cucina in Warwick, said their reservations were off the charts.
“We’re going to be about 200 on the books tonight, and this is a 47-seat restaurant,” Passaretta said. “They do a little magic in here to make that happen.”
