Lucknow: Accusing the BJP-led NDA govt at the Centre for misusing technology in a show of brute force against protesting farmers, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Friday also charged the BJP with misusing electoral bonds.“The way the BJP govt has used technology to target farmers is something that has never happened anywhere in the world,” Akhilesh said, apparently refering to reports that security forces and police had used drones to lob teargas shells to quell farmers’ protest. “Is this how technology is supposed to be used,” he asked. He said the farmers’ demand for a law to back MSP was completely justified. He said the farmers were being forced to sell their produce at a profit margin much less than what they earned earlier as prices of fertilizers, seeds and other such things have gone up but precises of the crops have not been increased. “The farmers are protesting because their income and profit margins have decreased drastically because of the faulty policies of BJP govt,” he said.He said the way the BJP has handled such bonds reflects that it is deeply rooted in corruption. “Supreme Court’s decision on electoral bonds has added power to ongoing farmer’s agitation. People who were giving heavy donations to BJP from backdoor to occupy farm sector will not be able to do so,” he said. “It is time to expose BJP and its corrupt practice of taking money in the form of funds from the rich to hatch conspiracies against farmers and labourers,” he said. He condoled the death of agitating farmer, Sardar Gyan Singh, at Shambhu border.
