The Baton Rouge Community College Foundation has elected new officers for 2024.
Chas Roemer will serve as board president. He is CEO of Chas Roemer Innovations, which provides finance and management to developing companies particularly in the energy and security industries. He helped start the first charter school in Louisiana and served as president of Louisiana’s Board of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Jennifer Burgess will serve as vice president. She is a project manager at IBM and is a BRCC graduate.
Ralph Bender will serve as board treasurer/secretary. He is the CFO of Manship Media, and has dedicated decades of his life offering financial advice to local nonprofits. He is the former chair of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber.

Kathryn Richard, of Bank of Zachary, has been installed as president of the Louisiana Bankers Education Council.
Richard succeeds Mallie Bowers of First Federal Bank of Louisiana in Lake Charles.

Sales & Marketing Executives of Greater Baton Rouge has announced the 2023 honorees for the Excellence in Sales & Marketing Award presented by Hancock Whitney.
The honorees are outstanding marketers who have given innovative concepts to their company to set them apart from their competitors and sales professionals who have shown a significant percentage of growth, revenue from sales, and profitability.
The honorees are:

David Belanger, the outgoing CEO of Community Coffee, will be presented with the Nell Mitchell Doughty Lifetime Achievement Award. Doughty is the founder of Sales & Marketing Executives of Greater Baton Rouge.

Two Visit Baton Rouge employees are members of the Louisiana Travel Association’s 2004 class of the Louisiana Tourism Leadership Academy.
Fallon Tullier, research and technology manager, and Bridget Gaffney, client relationship manager, will join nearly 30 other tourism professionals from around the state. The goal of the leadership academy is to further educate those within the tourism industry by developing their leadership skills, strengthening their communication networks and informing them about the responsibilities of leadership in building and enriching their tourism-related organizations.
