Donovan Duffy has been named president of Meyer Engineers, effective Jan. 1.
Duffy succeeds Rick Meyer, who has been president since 2000. Meyer will remain with the company as a principal focusing on business development and mentoring.
He has been with Meyer Engineers since 2017.
Meyer was purchased in December by Thompson Holdings, parent company of Thompson Engineering, Watermark Design and Thompson Consulting Services.

He is the fourth generation of Talbots to work at the business.
He attended the University of Alabama.

Kiyana Kelly has been named as the director of the 1890 Center of Excellence for Nutrition, Health, Wellness and Quality of Life at the Southern University Ag Center.
Kelly has served as the center’s associate agent for family and consumer sciences and youth development since 2014.
She earned a bachelor’s in health education and promotion from Southeastern Louisiana University and a master’s in public administration from Southern University.

Katie Greci and Scott Smith have joined the staff of Investar Bank.
Greci was hired as commercial portfolio manager. She has more than 18 years experience in the banking industry.
She earned a bachelor’s in mass communications from LSU.
Smith is a field auditor with the bank. He has nearly 30 years of experience in the banking industry.
He earned both a bachelor’s and a master’s in accounting from LSU.

Mattilyn Karst Batson has been hired as policy and research director for the Louisiana Policy Institute for Children.
Batson most recently worked for Gov. John Bel Edwards as the inaugural director of early childhood systems. Before that, she was a Jefferson Parish public school teacher.
She earned a bachelor’s in sociology and public policy and minor in philosophy, politics and economics from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and a master’s in teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education.
