Officials try to locate victims after business explodes in Hillsboro

HILLSBORO, Ohio — Officials in Hillsboro are searching for possible victims after an explosion leveled a downtown business.

The Ohio Department of Transportation said U.S. 62 will be closed between U.S. 50 and Dunlap Road for an unknown amount of time following what officials describe as an explosion at Jimbo’s Auto Repair. Video and photos sent to WCPO show billowing smoke and intense flames at the site.

Officials said one person was treated and taken to the hospital. Three other people were reported to have been inside the structure when it exploded. Crews have pulled one body from the site and said they are still in the process of trying to locate all possible victims.
