WORTHINGTON — The Nobles County Library, 407 12th St., Worthington, is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The Adrian Branch Library, 214 Maine Ave., Adrian, is open from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Holiday closings: The Worthington and Adrian libraries will be closed Monday, Jan. 1 in observance of New Year’s Day. The libraries will also be closed Saturday, Jan. 13 and Monday, Jan. 15 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Worthington Library youth programming

Tuesday: Kids Club (grades K-5), after school until 4:45 p.m.

Wednesday: Story Time (toddlers-preschoolers), 10 to 11 a.m.; Just Gurlz (girls grades 5-9), after school until 4:45 p.m.

Thursday: Kids Club (grades K-5), after school until 4:45 p.m.

Monday: Wii (grades 4-9), after school until 4:45 p.m.

Please call the library at (507) 295-5340 to sign up your children. Children are responsible for their own ride to and from the library. Please have your children picked up by 5 p.m.

Worthington Library adult programming

Tuesday, Jan. 9: “Pirates: Predators of the Seas” with Arn Kind, 6 to 8 p.m.

Tuesday, Jan. 16: Board Game Night, 6 to 8 p.m. (ages 18+ please)

Tuesday, Jan. 23: AARP HomeFit workshop, 10 to 11:30 a.m. (via Zoom, please register in advance)

Monday, Jan. 29: Friends of the Library Book Club, 6 p.m. We will be discussing the book, “The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell” by Robert Dugoni. All are welcome!

New books for adults: “The Amish Midwife’s Bargain” by Patrice Lewis, “Calling on the Matchmaker” by Jody Hedlund, “The Final Curtain” by Keigo Higashino, “Five Bad Deeds” by Caz Frear and “The Frozen River” by Ariel Lawhon.

New large print books: “Sleep No More” by Jayne Ann Krentz, “Night Shift” by Robin Cook, “Encore in Death” by J.D. Robb, “The House at the End of the World” by Dean Koontz and “Sugar Plum Poisoned” by Jenn McKinlay.

New books for children: “The Berenstain Bears’ Extra Special Valentine” by Mike Berenstain, “Dragonboy and the 100 Hearts” by Fabio Napoleoni and “Creep, Leap, Crunch! A Food Chain Story” by Jody Jensen Shaffer.

Art Experience: From Jan. 7 through Feb. 27, the library and the Art Center will host a collaborative art experience with Dan Wahl called, “Horse Meditations”. Located in the main part of the library, this should be a fun, interactive experience for all ages! Join us in the Art Center for an opening reception from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7.

Art Club: Art Club meets the fourth Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. There is no cost to join and all are welcome!
