Important Update: BluePrint Managed Print Program

[ad_1]

The University’s managed print program, or BluePrint, has entered the implementation
phase. BluePrint now provides all students, faculty and staff with the ability to
securely print from any device across all three campuses.

The BluePrint program ensures that the Seton Hall community has reliable, secure,
up-to-date, and supported printing, copying and scanning resources while also ensuring
the University is providing this service in a sustainable and cost-efficient manner.
As such, the Department of Information Technology is responsible for the procurement,
installation, replacement, management and support of the University’s printer fleet.

Upgraded Printers

Collaborating with the University’s printing vendor, the Department of Information
Technology is now assessing and upgrading Canon/Xerox copiers and printers to advanced
Xerox equipment. This strategic transition is guided by five years of printing data,
industry standards for print volumes, and best practices in higher education.

To ensure a seamless printing experience during the transition, review the step-by-step
instructions for installing the new Xerox printer packages:

Supply Replacement Process

One of BluePrint’s key advantages is its dedication to minimizing waste and optimizing
the value of each supply. Each printer is equipped with a sensor to track printing
supply consumption, triggering an automatic shipment when the device reaches 20% remaining
capacity. Replacement of the consumable should only occur once the device reaches
0-1% remaining capacity, even if the shipment is received earlier.

It is important to note that the premature replacement of a consumable may disrupt
the replacement process, potentially resulting in future replacement costs.
If you notice a depletion or exhaustion of toner but are unsure how to verify the
remaining capacity, please contact the Technology Service Desk before removing and replacing the toner.
