STAYING COLD, WINDY MONDAY, FREEZING RAIN POSSIBLE TUESDAY…
There’s a WIND ADVISORY for the Portland metro area for Monday into Tuesday morning. NE wind could be steady at 20 to 30 mph with gust 40 to 50 mph, limited to the gorge early in the day but becoming more widespread into the afternoon.
There’s also a WINTER STORM WATCH in effect Tuesday morning at 10am to Wednesday morning at 4am. Possible snow, but freezing rain more likely and could be as much as .30″ of an inch.
Temperatures stay below freezing until Wednesday. Wind Chill Values could drop to single digits.
Monday’s weather maker is high pressure that will give us sunny skies but won’t warm anybody up much, and kick up the east wind again.
Tuesday’s weather maker is the next area of low pressure and the front associated with it that will bring in rain over the cold air that’s hanging around, that ‘s where the danger of freezing rain comes in.
It will be breezy again later Tuesday into Wednesday, but by Wednesday we’re just looking at rain and warmer temperatures, thawing begins for real with daytime highs in the 40s.
