Auburn City Council unanimously approved an alcohol beverage license on Tuesday for the upcoming Agave Bar and Grill, bringing the restaurant closer to opening.
The family-owned Mexican restaurant can be found at 201 W Glenn Ave., making it the restaurant’s first location in Alabama. It will be in the building under West & Wright Apartments, where Wings Etc. Grill & Pub restaurant operated before it closed.
“For opening, we’re just finalizing a few more inspections with the fire department and we have the green light to operate,” said Cynthia Zimla, who co-owns Agave Bar and Grill.
A note appears on the window of the new Agave Bar & Grill that opens in downtown Auburn soon. Wings Etc. Grill & Pub operated out of that building before they closed.
The drink menu includes mojito, margarita fly, tequila expresso martini, a variety of tequila Muskan Mexican whiskies and more. There’s a variety of Mexican cuisine, including a brunch menu that features caliente chicken and waffles, fajita omelette and chilaquiles.
