Betty Wallschlaeger
Betty Wallschlaeger, 100, of Collins, NY passed away Monday, Dec. 25, 2023 in Eden,NY.
She was born Jan. 28, 1923 in Milwaukee,WI the daughter of the late Charles and Bertha( Hoffman) Becker.
Mrs. Wallschlaeger was married to Lester Wallschlaeger who predeceased her in 2001.
She was employed as a Medical Stenographer at Gowanda Psychiatric Center for 23 years. She was a longtime member of Trinity UCC Church, member of the Collins Senior Citizens, Englewood Fun Chorus, Collins Vol. Fireman’s Auxiliary and former member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by a son Lon (Karen) Wallschlaeger of Collins, NY and two daughters Lynn (Doug Miller) Abbey of Gowanda, NY and Lana (Vic Wawrzyniak) of Eden, NY and eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. Also a son in law John Szalasny of Hamburg, NY
Besides her loving husband she is predeceased by a a daughter Laura Szalasny and a grandson Alex.
Friends may call at the Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 105 E. Main Street in Gowanda, NY on Thursday Dec. 28, 2023 from 4-7pm.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11am from Trinity UCC Church in Gowanda , NY.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Belfast, NY.
Memorial s may be made to Trinity UCU Church in Gowanda, NY.
