CAPE MAY — Less than a week after the famous groundhog in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, predicted an early spring, a local business tried Tuesday to skip ahead to summer.
Billed as a combination pep rally, news conference and employee orientation, the Cape Resorts event at Convention Hall included a DJ, video presentations and predictions for summer 2024. Spoiler alert: They’re expecting a good year.
Among those set to attend were business and tourism leaders from Cape May and staff of Cape Resorts, operator of Congress Hall in Cape May, Beach Plum Farm in West Cape May and multiple other businesses in Cape May and New York.
Speakers included Curtis Bashaw, the founder and managing partner of Cape Resorts. Bashaw recently announced his campaign for the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate.
