SOUTH DAYTON — Danielle West reached a special milestone Monday night in a game when the Pine Valley girls rolled to an 85-22 victory over Cattaraugus-Little Valley in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 East action.
The junior’s 3-pointer — courtesy of an assist by her older sister, Alyssa — in the second quarter allowed her to reach the 1,000-point career mark.
“It’s just awesome for her because she comes in and works hard every single day trying to make herself better,” Panthers coach Zachary Len said.
Danielle West, who finished with 33 points, four rebounds, an assist and a block, now has 1,016 points for her career. Also helping Pine Valley’s cause were Vivien Libby with 18 points, 12 rebounds, two assists and six blocks; Paige Hohl with 14 points, two steals and one assist; and Jessina Miller with 8 points, five steals, four rebounds, three assists and one block. Sarah Kruszka added 6 points, three steals, four rebounds and an assist; Mauve Leverentz had 4 points and two boards; and Alyssa West finished with 2 points, one steal, five rebounds and four assists.
Emma West led the Timberwolves with 7 points and Bernie Butcher chipped in 6.

TROJANS DOWN FREDONIA
WEST ELLICOTT — Reece Beaver poured in 33 points, including 26 in the first half, to send Southwestern to a 70-31 Division 1 West victory over Fredonia.
Beaver added seven assists and six rebounds for the Trojans (11-6, 8-0), who also received 13 points, four assists and two steals from Bella Sirianni; 8 points and six boards from Lauren Cotter; and 7 points eight rebounds and four steals from Madi McIntyre.
The Hillbillies (8-8, 3-5) were paced by Keilany Diaz and Ella Koopman with 10 points apiece.

PIRATES CLINCH D2 WEST
CLYMER — More than 10 years had passed since the Clymer girls basketball team clinched the league title, but on Monday night the ladies had an opportunity to do it at home against Maple Grove.
Clymer struggled to get shots to fall against the Red Dragons, but just as she has done all year, Alexys Neckers rose to the occasion for the Pirates. Neckers scored a game-high 22 points with nine rebounds to send Clymer past Maple Grove 36-31, clinching the Division 2 West league title.
“Tonight we claimed our first league title since 2013,” stated Clymer head coach Dave Bodamer. “I am very proud of these girls and how hard they have worked to earn this. It was not easy and the playoffs are going to get tougher. Now we have to try to seal up the top seed in the playoffs.”
Helping Clymer (15-2, 10-0) outrebound Maple Grove were Elli Bodamer and Natalie White with eight boards each, Janelle Burchanowski grabbed seven and Ava Nyweide collected four boards while dealing three assists.
Maple Grove (11-5, 5-5) was led by Rebekka Roberts with seven points and six boards, while Bryanna Cornell reeled in 13 boards and six steals.
