Joan Marie Lyons
Joan Marie Lyons passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023 at the age of 81 surrounded by family and close friends. Joan was born on Sept. 18, 1942 in Toledo Ohio to Robert and Marjorie (Golubski) McCaig. She moved to Dunkirk NY at the age 2 where she spent the rest of her life. She attended Cardinal Mindszenty High School in Dunkirk, NY and graduated from D’Youville College in Buffalo, NY with an English degree. In 1965, Joan was married to James Lynn Lyons. Joan and Jim had three daughters Kitty, Betsy and Kimberly.
Donations in her memory can be made to the Cleveland Clinic, Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care, the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation, or the Friendly Kitchen Food Pantry.
