Kathleen Patricia McMahon-Jones, 60, of Fredonia, NY, passed away on Friday February 23, 2024 at the Erie County Medical Center after a brief illness.
Kathleen was born in Buffalo on March 15, 1963, daughter of Joann (Brennan) McMahon and the late Francis McMahon.
Growing up in Buffalo, Kathleen later moved to North Boston, NY with her family and graduated Hamburg High School 1981. She graduated Buffalo State College in 1987 earning Master’s Degree in Special Education and Science.
A dedicated and respected special education teacher, Kathleen taught at the Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaragaus BOCES, LoGuidice Center in Fredonia for 35 years. On February 29, 1996, Kathleen married Timothy P. Jones, also a special education teacher at the LoGuidice Center.
A woman of many interests and talents, she enjoyed gardening, BREAD MAKING, archery and watching cooking shows. Kathleen also enjoyed the outdoors, skipping stones on the water, building campfires with her husband, and camping at Tammy’s. Above all, she enjoyed and cherished spending time with her grandchildren. She was active in Girl Scouts, a coach in Special Olympics, and a long time 4-H program supporter, as her 3 children were active in 4-H for many years.
Kathleen is survived by: her husband, Tim Jones; children: Jasmine (Richard) Griffin, Margaret Jones, and Liam Jones; grandchildren: Winnie, Charlie, Anais and Richard; her mother, Joann McMahon; siblings: Michael (Christine) McMahon, Barbra (George) Carter, Sandra Kaney, and Martin (Marlene) McMahon; also many nieces, nephews and beloved cousins.
She is predeceased by her father, Francis L. McMahon and paternal aunt, Mary Hastings.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6-8 pm at the LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home, 20 Central Ave., Fredonia, and Wednesday from 3:30 -4: 30 pm at the Harvest Chapel Free Methodist Church, 39 Matteson St., Fredonia, where a funeral service will follow at 4:30 pm.
