Rainer Madigan has been hired as the first managing director for Kids Join The Fight.
Madigan has years of health care and nonprofit experience.
KJTF is a national nonprofit focused on helping children and their families battle pediatric cancer. The organization was founded by Walker Beery, a 7-year-old boy who battled pediatric brain cancer. His determination to help other children led to the growth of the nationwide organization.
Through a partnership with Children’s Hospital New Orleans, the organization has raised $2 million to help build Walker’s Imaginarium, a 12,000-square-foot space for patients and their families.

Geoffrey M. Williams has been hired as chief operating officer of Stone Pigman Walther Wittmann.
Williams will oversee operations, strategy and a variety of other functions for the law firm.
He has more than 27 years of legal and business leadership experience, including a serving as chief operating officer of a civil litigation firm in Alabama. Williams is the international president and chair of the board of directors for the Association of Legal Administrators.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with high honors from Huntingdon College, a master of divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary, a master’s in business administration with the highest honors from LSU-Shreveport and a graduate certificate in law firm management from George Washington University.
Baton Rouge
Micah Nicholas is now the executive director of the American Red Cross of Louisiana’s Capital-West Chapter.
In his new role, Nicholas will oversee the delivery of Red Cross programs and services to more than a million residents across 22 parishes, which include Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Lake Charles and surrounding areas.
He most recently served as the director of impact for United Way of Acadiana.
He earned a bachelor’s in psychology from Sewanee and a master’s in nonprofit administration with a specialization in disaster preparedness from LSU-Shreveport.
Outside Louisiana
Kathleen L. Quirk has been named CEO of Freeport-McMoRan, effective in June.
Quirk, a native of New Orleans, has been with Freeport since 1989. She has risen through the ranks of the company, serving as treasurer, chief financial officer, president and as a board of directors member.
She is the first woman to serve as CEO of a major global mining company.
She earned a bachelor’s in accounting from LSU.
