Gate City Bank’s Giving Hearts Day is big success
From surprise financial donations to a larger-than-life initiative to tackle food insecurity and everything in between, when it came to Giving Hearts Day 2024, one thing was certain – Gate City Bank’s appetite to give was big.
Gate City Bank donated more than $250,000 toward Giving Hearts Day charities that keep communities strong, bringing its total giving over the past 10 years to $2 million. The bank has been a partner with Giving Hearts Day since 2014, helping 300 charities and matching 100% of team member donations, including volunteer hours.

Maurices bra donation drive is next month
Maurices announced its second annual bra donation drive with “I Support the Girls” during the month of March 2024. This campaign is in honor of supporting women impacted by domestic violence, homelessness, and human trafficking. Based on recent consumer insights, supporting domestic violence and human trafficking prevention is important to customers, the company said.
I Support the Girls collects and distributes essential items, including bras, underwear, socks and menstrual hygiene products, allowing women and folx experiencing homelessness, impoverishment, or distress to stand tall with dignity.
Donations will be collected in-store of new or gently worn bras for women in need in hometowns across the U.S. In addition to collecting new and gently worn bras from customers, Maurices will be conducting a campaign at the register from March 1 to March 31.
