Roger Clarke High School in St Elizabeth is mourning the sudden death of information technology teacher Damani Campbell.
On Tuesday, the 28-year-old educator, who is from the parish, died after suffering a seizure.
“There are no words to express the tremendous grief that, as a school, we are experiencing,” said the school in a media release.
“Death has robbed us of one of our very passionate, student-centred, jovial, and dedicated teachers,” it added.
His death came sharply on the heels of another teacher, Alexis Thompson, 40, from Lacovia High School in the parish who died suddenly.
Thompson, who is from Belmont in Westmoreland and who taught social studies and library science, was found unresponsive on December 20, sending shockwaves throughout the school community at the news of her death.
The information technology specialist death has increased the number of teachers to have died in St Elizabeth in recent months to four.
In September, 31-year-old Danielle Blake from Sandy Ground in St Elizabeth died from injuries she received in a motor vehicle accident after two vehicles collided on the Font Hill main road in St Elizabeth.
At the time of her tragic death, Blake was employed at the Savanna-La-Mar Primary School in Westmoreland.
Also, Tisha Patrick-Rowe, principal of the St Elizabeth-based Fullerswood Primary School, died on September 13, days after she had an accident at school.
Another death was that of 29-year-old Sameika Smalling, who at the time of her passing was employed as a teacher at Esher Primary School in Hanover.
Smalling in October complained about a severe headache and was admitted to the Cornwall Regional Hospital in St James.
Her medical condition took a turn for the worst and she was transferred to the University Hospital of the West Indies in St Andrew where he died on November 16.
