Q: Why did you want to start this kind of business?
A: I wanted to start a different type of CPA firm, where the focus was providing personalized service and not emphasizing billable hours. I had found that many local businesses would like an accountant who was able to not only supply tax advice, but also provide support for growing their businesses.
Q: How did you get your start?
A: I began working as a CPA with a firm in Camp Hill in 2000, and have been working with clients since then to assist them with meeting their financial needs.
Q: What does your business sell or provide?
A: We are a full-service CPA for both individuals and small businesses. We provide tax planning and preparation, bookkeeping, payroll services, outsourced accounting for businesses, general business consulting, etc. We strive to fulfill whatever our client needs to ensure they are financially informed and successful.
Q: What is the biggest challenge you are facing right now?
A: While it may sound odd, many times our biggest challenge is incorrect/incomplete information found on the internet by clients. Tax strategies developed to fit client needs are often very complex because there are a tremendous number of factors that play into the tax code. Many articles and pieces of advice available on the internet try to simplify the overall process but does not accurately describe the complexities, and sometimes costs, involved with executing them. We personally work with clients daily to explain the intricacies of what is needed to effectively run their business, while minimizing costs and tax burden, which is something unfortunately the internet does not provide.
Q: What is your favorite thing to do or place in Cumberland County?
A: I love the wide variety of activities from hiking and biking to antiquing in the area. While Cumberland County has grown significantly, there are so many places with a wonderful small-town charm still.
