College football bowl games are upon us as the 2023 postseason begins with a flurry of matchups that will mark a celebration of a compelling year in the sport. The action kicks off on Saturday, Dec. 16 and will run all the way through the College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday, Jan. 8 as we crown a national title winner for the 2023 season.
Though the pace of bowl season picks up starting on Saturday, Dec. 23, Thursday’s Boca Raton Bowl between Syracuse and USF remains a strong one-off rich with storylines. The former conference foes of the now-defunct Big East will square off with eyes on ending the season on a positive note. The Orange are in back-to-back bowl games for the first time since 2012-13 despite moving on from coach Dino Babers, and the Bulls have been one of college football’s pleasant surprises in 2023 under first-year coach Alex Golesh.
