The Original Cottage Inn Pizza has been a fixture of downtown Ann Arbor for 75 years, but its time will soon come to an end.
The business announced its space at 512 E. William St. is closed and currently undergoing renovations, with plans to reopen as an entirely new business called Coratti’s Pizzeria Bar and Bocce.

HomeGoods is taking over the building at 3645 Washtenaw Ave. that was occupied by Bed Bath & Beyond until it closed at the start of 2023.

Cass & Co. Upscale Thrift & Gift had its grand opening at 7980 Ann Arbor St. in early December. The shop sells a variety of clothing items, with a large focus on women’s fashion.

One Ann Arbor coffee shop plans to bring new life to a space that was once home to Ypsilanti’s popular Cultivate Coffee and Tap House.
Vertex Coffee Roasters plans to open a second location in early spring at 307 N. River St., which held Cultivate Coffee and Tap House until it closed in February 2022.

Elise Post doesn’t need an excuse to turn any little celebration into a big deal.
Post has been running her party planning business called Yours Truly Events & Novelties since 2019 and opened her first brick and mortar location at 114 W. Michigan Ave. in Ypsilanti.
The business is bringing new life to the former Unicorn Feed & Supply building in downtown Ypsilanti, which closed and moved completely online at the end of 2023.

Love is in the air with this Dexter mother-daughter duo’s speed-dating events
Adia’s mother met her husband through speed dating in 2018, and now the 14-year-old is helping others connect the same way.
Adia began The Perky Wallflower in Dexter in 2021 with help from her mother, Sara Clemm. The weekly speed-dating event is hosted on Tuesdays at Erratic Ale, 8080 Grand St.
“We wanted to do something where we can kind of give back to the community, and it’s just been great for us to be able to connect people and be a part of their stories,” Clemm said.

Owner and chef Jordan Balduf brings a little bit of his hometown to everything he creates at Side Biscuit in Ann Arbor.
The Buffalo, New York native was struggling to find wings he enjoyed in Ann Arbor, so he decided to start his own business and soon realized he loved sharing a piece of New York with others.
“A lot of our specials and products (at Side Biscuit) are actually regional specialties from Buffalo, so a lot of transplants from western New York come in and it’s feels like home,” he said.
