Gemini Lands Google In AI Soup

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is reportedly gearing up to send a formal notice to Google over concerning outputs produced by its AI tool Gemini, as per a report by The Indian Express citing insider information. A senior official within the government has purportedly disclosed that Google’s AI platform, previously known as Bard and now rebranded as Gemini, had furnished an unsuitable response to a user inquiry, particularly when asked to condense content from a conservative publication. Instances of problematic responses concerning Prime Minister Narendra Modi have spurred the ministry into action.

According to a screenshot circulated on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Gemini, in response to a query about PM Modi’s classification as a ‘fascist’, indicated that he has faced allegations of implementing policies that some experts have likened to fascism. However, contrasting its response to a similar inquiry about former US President Donald Trump, Gemini advised the user to resort to a Google Search for the most accurate information.
