SOUTH GLENS FALLS – Assembly member Carrie Woerner (D, 113, Glens Falls) stopped by the Bierhall & Barrel House at Common Roots Café on Thursday, Jan. 18, to meet with members of the South Glens Falls community. Woerner is the newly-named chair of the New York State Assembly’s Committee on Small Businesses.
“I really want to understand, in a broader sense, what are the headwinds our small businesses are facing as they seek to grow and expand their business,” she said.
For their part, the local business leaders introduced themselves but did not bring up issues in public. Some spoke with Woerner individually.
Cheryl Lawyer, president of the South Glens Falls Chamber of Commerce said she hopes to start meeting with community members regularly on the third Thursday of each month to discuss the issues and ideas that chamber members and non-members may have to either improve or highlight the area.
