As she thinks about the many accomplishments achieved as a team in 2023, “one rises to the top and yet it is connected to so many,” said Terri Bowling, program manager at Highmark Caring Place. They successfully moved their center of 20 years, dedicated to serving grieving children and their families, to a brand-new location on Highmark’s campus in Camp Hill. “It was a huge project that took staff and volunteers to come together in ways we couldn’t have imagined while we continued to bring core programming to our grieving community.”
The key qualities or values that she believes have contributed to her success are a dedication and commitment to the mission of the program; a customer-first focus; valuing authenticity and transparency; being accountable; and being humble. “Above all, though, I value honoring the concept of team – it takes all of us to make a difference. Without the talented and dedicated people around me doing incredibly important hard and heartfelt work, my work would not make a difference.”
